Description
The brewing industry in Grünbach has been documented since the early 18th century with the brewing law of 1723. After an eventful history, Herman Noll took over the brewery under the name of Schloßbrauerei Grünbach. In 1990 son Alexander took over the brewery in the third generation. After the year 2000 Alexander Noll started to look for a partner in order to be able to cope with the challenges of the beer market and also recognize the potential of the brewery in order to be able to continue investing in brand revitalization and expansion together. In 2013 this partner was found in the Arco-Bräu in Moos.

Bottle picked up from REWE, Zolling and consumed at home Attenkirchen Sunday 12th January 2020 cooking Picadillo (Mexican Chile) and listening to Floating Points - Crush. Pours gold with a white head, a light haze shows. Interesting that I get a strong smell of cloves on the nose, not sure why? In the mouth this is quite pleasant, refreshing, wheaty, clean nose now the cloves appear to have disappeared. Soft mouthfeel, wheaty but with a creamy edge. Good but nothing out of the ordinary.

500ml bottle. Hazy, amber colour with average, frothy, diminishing, white head. Wheaty, yeasty fruity and slightly leafy aroma, hints of baked banana, pear, some clove, citrusy hoppy overtones with a touch of lime, lime peel. Taste is minimally bready, wheaty malty, yeasty fruity and slightly yeasty spicy, some citrusy tartness, hints of banana, dried banana, some clove, lime, lime peel, old lemon peel. Minimally watery passages, prickly carbonation. Has some nice, dirty aspects concerning taste and aroma, but some deficiencies in secondary issues (appearance and mouthfeel).

Bottle picked up from REWE Zolling and consumed at home Attenkirchen, Monday 9th December 2019 whilst cooking Mousakka and listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6Music. Wheaty from the off, oh yea the colour is cloudy orange/gold with a white head. I am unsure what the Winter element to this beer is as it doesn't taste of winter spice? Anyway it's fine, wheaty, quite clean and with a little tangy edge.

500ml bottle, via djoeye, shared with Finn. A covering white head and a slight haze of wheat to a yellow-gold body. Faint lacing. Moderate smell of banana and pale malts. Dominated banana sweetness to the taste buds added by malted wheat, lightly spiced. Prolonged sweet ending. Accepted. (Tromsø 14.10.2019).

500 ml bottle from the supplier of German gold that is Kolschtrinker. Thanks chap! Pours hazed glowing deep orange, good pillowy white froth atop. Aroma has light weisse esters. Taste is soft, light weisse notes consisting of the usual banana & gentle butterscotch, echoed by honeyed malt shades, completed by a moderate bitterness. Its a fine weissbier i suppose, not jumping out as special in any way but im fine with that.
