Bottle from Tesco Supermarket, Failsworth. Golden with a head. Healthy looking non-alcoholic version that packs in much of the same flavour, texture aroma and taste as the original version of the Abbey brew. It just lacks the same depth in the palate.

@home poured into a small chalice. Clear medium amber colour, small frothy white head, diminishing slowly, some yeast circles remain, light lacing. Aroma sweet malt, Belgian yeast, overripe apples, hard caramel candy. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, yeast, spicy notes, candy sugar. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, malty backbone, candied fruit, alcohol notes, bit crude, decent.

Bottle 0.33 at home in Rome-Italy. Clear ancient golden color, irregular foam. Nose: esters, boiled peers, yeast. Mouth: aggressively alcoholic, confusing spicy and unbalanced.

0.75 l bottle. Aroma and taste: strong malty flavor with corn sticks and Madeira tones, also with a touch of citrus, a bit spicy, very warming. Pleasant.
