Draft pour at Ravenna on opening week. From notes. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a thin, oily head. Very true jalepeno pepper aroma, without being devastating. Jalepeno business! I have always had a love for these pepper beers, and put them among my favorite styles with its unique and artsy character. This one finds a way to be spicy and very refreshing at the same time. Medium body kolsch. Pepper flavor first with the heat showcased late. Very well made pepper beer here. Its about time I go get this again.

On tap at Ravenna, poured through a randall, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of citrus and oranges, with a touch of Belgian yeast. Flavour brings out shitloads of oranges, not much else, with a lightly citric finish. Not an elegant beer by any means, but it's solid for what it is. Decent experiment.

On tap at Ravenna, pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lots not spicy rye upfront, followed by earthy hops and bready malt. Flavour is spicy and earthy, with lots of the rye upfront, bitter hopping, and murky earthy bready malt. Not very clean, but it's a difficult style to make clean. Not bad but lacking cohesion and elegance.

On tap at Ravenna, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, light brown sugar, and clove. Flavour brings out clove, Belgian yeast, a little banana and brown sugar. A little sweet, but well-balanced. Finishes with banana and dark fruits. Solid American attempt at a difficult style.

On tap at Ravenna, pours a hazy golden orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light piney hops, some citrus notes and biscuity malt. Flavour is a bit jumbled and messy, with citrus notes, sweet caramel and biscuity notes. A bit messy and needing refinement but not too bad.

On tap at Ravenna, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out a nice piney hop quality that is stronger than the average pale. Flavour follows accordingly, with lots of piney hops upfront coating the palate, and backed by just enough biscuity malt. Tastes almost more like an IPA. Excellent stuff.
