This is not Kingston Spigold. This is not Kingston. This is not Northern Spy (though the 2020 batch is sadly similar). This is also not Autumn Gold. Bottle from their cider club. Pint glass @home. Clear, shiny, active, inviting, gold pour. Smells of steel, mulch, cold apples, weak pilsner. Taste is bitter leaves, drinking cheap bubbly out of a metal cup, sharp white table grapes, lemon, old chips, oak, yeast. Residual bitterness is Aspirin-like. Bold but lacking in good flavor. I seem to recall these flavors from other blends. Consistent & strong carbonation. Very dry. Strong acidity. Boozy. The Aspirin & lack of anything great to concentrate on has me very meh about this. Well made, but difficult to drink & not actually tasty. They make so many better bottles & actually blend/hide this apple in many other things. They set the bar too high for themselves that an above average pour gets a meh rating.

Bottle from the cider club. Pint glass @home. Clear, active, amber pour. Lemony, very green, mulch-y, sweet onion, slightly lacking. Taste is very lemony Sweet Tart, under-ripe cherries, iron/metal spoon, sharp apples, caramelized juice, white sugar snap. Very well carbonated, thin, appropriate abv, super acidic, drying texture, but not absolutely dry. Not super complex, but disappeared rather quickly.

Bottle from their cider club. Lowball @home. Pretty, clear, dark gold with lingering eggshell froth. Strong scents of candied banana, spice, tart apples/pears/fruit. Sharp & very lemony. Pithy, skin, sour plum, bitter orange/coriander, salt. Acidic, bright, residual yeast, dry mouth, strong. Had this bottle over two sittings. Not because it wasn't great, but because it's very bold. Good. Very good as far as my perry experience goes.

Bottle from Eve's cider club. Duvel glass @home. Immediately differs from their perry pear from a few years back. It's smaller & drier, not as nosey, but might be from some of the same trees. Solid head thanks to the Duvel glass. Opaque yellow that isn't typical of Eve's. Everything usually settles out gracefully. Strong rubbing alcohol scent pushed through with the strong carbonation. Yeast, sour peach, watery pineapple, mellow residual fermentation, lemonade drink mix. Taste is really peachy puree, fruity Flintstone's vitamins, chalk, light lemon acidity, no serious tartness. Drying finish. Thin, frail, good carbonation as always, level booze, dusty, missing a note. Okay.

Bottle from Eve's bottle club. Duvel glass @home. Two months in storage, three weeks in the fridge. Settled, but still a bit hazed. Duvel bubbles, dull light gold body. Boisterous but soft melon nose. Dry pear skin, wet leaves, powder, the softest hint of funk. Taste is very earthy, more than I'd like (it lingers too). Marigolds. Big, bitter, homegrown past picking season lettuce in July sort of bite; stems. Old wood. Old leather jacket fumes. Good acid & overall sharpness. Perfectly bubbly, harsh residual boozy flavor & medicinal bitter backbone. Not my typical perry. Needs time to cool off. Okay.

6/8/2021. Bottle sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of sweet apple, caramel, wood, lemon peel, grapefruit, marzipan, herbal notes. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average carbonation. Nice sharp tart finish develops, quince like. Decent.

Bottle from Eve's cider club. Stemless wine glass @home. Clear, pale bronze, darker gold color. Uncharacteristic lees settled at the bottom. Rich apple sauce with a bit of saline. Taste is a very tart candy-dipped apple, lemon seltzer, ...plum pit? I ran the bottle down before I could really get that last one. Fresh fruit. Still fermenting? Bottle has a little meat, lightly sweet but plenty bitter, moderately carbed, with a mildly yeast finish. Good.

750ml bottle from Cat in the Glass, for July 2021 Manchester Cider Club tasting. Clear orangey gold colour, afew short-lived bubbles on top and aroma of gummy apple. Taste is sweetish, apple, juicy fruity, slight caramel note, green wood & medicinal hints, citric acidic, sherberty, with drying bittersweet tannin. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tannic finish. Interesting, quite drinkable
