Slightly cloudy golden and light amber coloured body with an orange glow and almost no head at all - this is kind of odd looking, especially for the style, looks more of a still apple cider than anything else. Aroma of grass, brine, light wheat and not much else - fairly mild in the nose. Light-bodied; Soft malt and wheat flavours at first with the faintest hit of grass, lemons and perhaps a touch of salt, but that's it - very mild and incredibly weak throughout, even for the low alcohol style. Aftertaste is underwhelming at as well with only a dose of lemons and wheat with no other real complexities or pungent notes worth speaking of. Overall, a pretty soft beer with only the faintest hit of brine and salt, with some perhaps lemon sweetness noticeable only on the side of the palate with a touch of wheat and ever so mild sweetness at the tail end, but this is very weak throughout. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington, Virginia on 11-May-2019 for US$3,29 sampled at my house here in Washington, a few blocks away on 24-June-2019.

$5.39 bottle, TW-SP. Pours amber, some small bubbles, no head. Aroma is vanilla, tart stone fruit. Flavor is vanilla, sour stone fruit (not horribly sour), root beer (guess that's the sassafrass), bread crust. This is an interesting combo.

Overly sweet, as are all these Confectioner beers, to the point lactose becomes the dominant flavor, providing a cloy vanilla note far outpacing any coffee or chocolate from the malts. Sweetness turns medicinal on the back end, with an off-putting bitterness mixed with boozy warmth. I do get the Irish Coffee vibe, but it's closer to fake Irish Coffee flavoring in a bad Frappuccino knockoff than the actual drink. Not sad to see this mixed four-pack end.

Melon, salt, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Golden yellow with moderate white head. Mildly sweet cantaloupe, cucumber, wheat malt, lightly salty, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Good body. Very solid.

Again, a beer more interested in the gimmick than presenting anything close to an actual white ale. Moderate sweetness hits the palate first, followed by mild vanilla and lime notes, finished by an artificial graham and saccharine finish. No clove or grass or bright wheat loveliness; no point in labeling this pint a White Ale. I'm realizing I'm not the prime audience for this D9 Confectioners 4-pack.

Not the best idea for a beer, taking a style already on the sweet side without adjuncts and stuffing it full of lactose. Pretty dark red pour, but the nose is cardboardish and a little off. Taste reminds me of saccharine chocolate candy, with vanilla from the lactose and caramel from the malts doing nothing to abate the sugary center. Mild berry notes appear as well, but the medicinal bitterness on the back end pretty much kills any interest here. What a mess.
