Clear golden color, good creamy white head. Flowery English-hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Woody, flowery hoppyness, sharp alcohol. Lingering alcohol and bitterness with sweetish fruityness. These strong English style IPAs are quite rare. This is somewhat too alcoholic. Quite different than Reserve-version although it is same beer without spices.

(Draught at Bruuveri, 20120515) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Aroma was medium sized and white. Aroma had alcohol, solvent and hops. Palate was medium bodied with burning alcohol and medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, solvent, alcohol, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was boozy, hoppy and bitter. Unfortunately not a pleasant beer.

Draught @ Bruuveri, Helsinki

Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of caramel malts, spices and hints of honey. Taste is quite malty and spicy with notes of cinnamon, ginger, honey, caramel and toffee. Finish is spicy and hoppy with mild notes of honey and fruits. Quite untypical IIPA, but still quite tasty.

Hazy pale yellow color, tiny small head. Aroma has honey, grass and spices. Medium-bodied. This is reasonably dry, honeyish. Some green apple, hay, citrus, hops?. Pilsner malts have been used here and there is some pale barley notes too. Sparkling mouthfeel. Almost like some kind of sweetish spakling wine. Very difficult to rate ... the first of its kind in Finland.

The third of Arde’s tribute beers. Unfortunately Arde is Leeds, not Arsenal fan :)
Clear golden-copper color, good creamy off-white head. Leafy, nutty, English hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Honeyish sweetish. Fruity English hoppyness with spiced notes .. is it ginger? Can’t trace cinnamon. Lingering bitterness in the warming aftertaste. Also some alcohol. English spiced double IPAs are rare. This is at least interesting and somewhat drinkable too.

Flavours were hops, herbalness, pine, sweetness, malts, nuts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, malty and bitter. Nice and balanced double IPA. A bit too sweet. I couldn’t spot the spices at all.

Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, fruitiness, citricness, cinnamon, honey and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A mead such I’ve never tasted before. A confusing experience but also a pleasant one.

(Draught at Bruuveri, 20120412) The beer poured mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness, caramell, hops and pine. Palate was medium bodied and warming with quite high carbonation. Flavours were hops, pine, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, boozy and bitter. I found this beer unbalanced and too boozy. The hops pleased me, though. Also, according to the brewer the beer wasn’t ready for serving yet.

(Draught at Bruuveri, 20120331) The beer poured golden and a bit hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, pineapple, biscuit and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, fruitiness, pineapple, malts and bitterness. Aftertasted had hops, biscuit and bitterness. A quite tasty IPA with a strong hop bite that didn’t break the balancedness a lot.
