Vom Faß im Jing A, Peking. - Helles Rotgold, schwach trüb, „englisch“ sparsamer Schaum. - Nase zart zitronig herb. - Antrunk kräftig karamelmalzig mit breiter Malzsüße und mild orangenfruchtigem Hopfen, süßer Mandarine und etwas Kandis. Anklänge an Nadelwald. Mild rezent, breit vollmundig. Im Abgang kräftig hopfenbitter - angeblich Hallertauer Tradition - aber etwas leer, dabei alkoholisch. - Kein typisches Märzen: zu kandissüß, zu amerikanisch gehopft, aber bis zuletzt gut trinkbar. Probierenswert.

On tap in Oregon City of all places. Pours a almost jet black color with a medium white head. A nice resinous hop nose, light chocolates. The flavor is roast, sweet chocolates, ash, some cocoa, fruity citrus hops. Quite nice, very smooth and clean.

Tasting set wasn’t labelled and may have got it mixed up with the Buck Wild Summer Lager but I think this is the right description... This is the maple as it has a deep nutty maple aroma that’s quite good. It’s almost peanut butter like. The taste is zesty saison, light carbonation and body with more of that peanut maple kind of taste. Interesting and well done.

Tasting set wasn’t labelled and may have got it mixed up with the Maple Saison but I think this is the right description... A glowing gold with a beige head plus a brine and herbal aroma. Medium bodied and raspily carbonated it gives a taste that is sweet herbs, tangy and not all that saison like. 3.4 hmm I think this is the tea lager... Yeah that makes more sense.  Buckwheat beer.

Part of a tasting flight at Jing A taproom. Watermelon Xanadu berliner Weisse 5.6% 10 IBU

A lovely light salmonella pink color with a watermelon and cheesy aroma. The body is light and zesty, the taste tart watermelon. This is a good summer beer, these guys know what they’re doing with watermelon. Hell, I heard they even hosted a watermelon contest! 3.7

Airopocalypse has a deep reddish color with a dank toejam hop resin aroma. Lupulin  anyone? Man this is a rich malty backbone with a mass of pine needles jammed in it but in a good way. Very very good.

On tap at Big Smoke. Flying fist ipa 6.5% IBU 60 A deep copper orange gold which is what I want from an ipa. Citrus, lemon and pine hop bouquet screams classic ipa. Medium to full bodied with a raspy carbonation and semi-dry finish. The taste is pine and citrus with enough of a malt backbone to support it. A really nice beer to compliment the excellent food. A solid classic style.

On tap at Big Smoke. Mandarin wheat 15 IBUs 4.8% An opaque light gold with a Wheaty butterscotch diacetyl aroma. Taste is wheaty sweet butterscotch, not terrible but nowhere near style. Second fail at a wheat beer in Beijing, what gives?
