Courtesy of Vinny’s at the La Crosse airport. Clear straw color with a fizzy white head that disappears quickly. Nil lacing. Aroma of mild hops and wet paper bag. Light-bodied and crisp with a decent hoppy character, along with a hint of malt. The finish is bitter but not flavorful. All in all this is an average Lager.

16oz can pleasantly shared with Muzzlehatch and tiggmtl on 11/6/05. Smells of mineral water, light grains, dry corn-like notes and that lovely papery note so common in these quality lagers. Typical pale yellow pour, bubbly with a thin white head that recedes to a ring with no lacing. Flavor is surprisingly drinkable. Watery and very flavorless, with light hints of grains, but no stale or heavy corn syrup notes/alcohol/plastic/paper or anything of that sort. Just watered down grains. No hops apparency, no yeast apparency, very light body. Not what I’d expect from an ice beer, which are usually more red, with noxious "caramel" flavors and plenty of alcohol. Mouthfeel is fizzy, but not sharp or terribly overcarbonated. It settles out to a fairly watery consistency, actually.

Courtesy of Vinny’s at the La Crosse airport. Sickly light yellow color with tiny bubbles and a thin white head that was gone fast. Minimal lacing. Faint hops aroma and not much else. Light and clean body without a lot of flavor but very refreshing and easy to drink. Light bitterness makes this beer a lot better tasting than it looks or smells. The finish is also clean and relatively flavorless aside from a light malt sweetness. Non-threatening and straightforward Light beer.

Bottle brought back from Vinny’s at the La Crosse airport. Pale yellow-gold color with lots of bubbles and a thin white head. Nil lacing. Aroma of sweetcorn and stale hops. Light-bodied and relatively flavorless aside from mild corn and wheat. The finish is carbonated and lacks any flavor as well. Disappointing.

Light gold colour, clear. There’s a heck of a lot of corn notes, plus faint malt and less than faint fusel alcohol. Far too cloying to be consumed by the forty. Vile, harsh flavour combines alcohol, diacetyl and candyish sugar in ways not seen since the Soviet Union collapsed. Seriously, this can should be labelled in Cyrillic.

Fairly heavy and malty, with an unfortunate medicinal quality. Light hop aroma. Doesn’t really taste like a Marzen. Light body.

Pretty good for what it is. An ordinary light lager. Yellow color, very light and simple hop and malt flavor. No flaws.

This malt liquor is lacking in aroma with only some chemicals. Nearly flavorless; drink it cold to avoid any unpleasantness. Not the worst ever, and at least it packs a punch.

Yes interesting can glares at you from the shelf, commanding you to buy it. Started off semi decent looking, a bright yellow-gold, large bubble, medium firm head. Aroma surprisingly weak, some grain and solvent. Flavor is initially similar, not too sickeningly sweet, just grainy giving way to a solventy nail polish remover finish. Remember this stuff is 10%! So I tried to pretend it was a tripel gone haywire, and that the fusels were phenols, but it didn’t really work. I tried to force myself to drink the whole can. At one point I took a long pull from the glass, and immediately refrained from closing my mouth for fear of tasting what I had just done. I panted uncontrollably for several seconds. I forced myself to drink more. At this point my taste buds were nearly beaten into submission and I made a discovery that shall rank me with Pavlov. While Pavlov discovered that a stimulus in the mouth will trigger gastric secretions even if the food never reaches the stomach, I discovered that Ojo Malo in the mouth will trigger a signal from the nerves in the mouth to the language and motor parts of my brain instructing me to scream like a whipped dog. At this point my taste buds were nearly dead and I was able to finish this thing off, feeling slightly heady from the 10% ABV. Bonus points for not being overtly disgusting, finishable, and of course for leading to my Nobel Prize winning discovery.

Pours is a bright yellow with a quickly diminishing head. Aroam is sweet crap. Flavor is a cross between cough medicine and metal with a sticky sweet ness you can’t wash off your tounge. Only for the bold or reckless.
