5/5/2022. Bottle from 10 Beer Bottles, Wivenhoe. Pours clear dark bronze brown with a small creamy off-white head. Good looking pour. Aroma is malty, fruity, nutty, toffee, biscuit, hint of liquorice and treacle. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness and body. Oily, average to soft carbonation. Decent, especially for it's low abv.

500ml bottle as part of a delivery from Beautiful Beers and drunk at home. Light to mid-brown, translucent with a huge, thick beige/khaki head. Malty and light oak in the sumptuous aroma. Tastes sweet at first with big oak notes, with an intense bitterness taking hold mid-sip. Just a touch of the sweetness comes back for the short finish. Touches of oak and lightly spiced chocolate in the aftertaste. Interesting stuff even if the balance is a little off.

19/11/2021. Cask at the Harwich & Dovercourt Bay Winter Ale Festival 2021. Pours clear bright orange gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma is dank, hoppy, tropical, pineapple, yeast, touch of blue cheese. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, light tart edge. Moderate body, slightly oily texture, soft carbonation. Interesting.
