Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of toffee and light spice. Taste is more of the same. Thin, boozy finish.

330ml bottle at the Goudse Eend, Gouda. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a lasting frothy white head and lots of champagne bubbles. The aroma is buttery yeast Belgian malt. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, yeasty, mineral, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.

Near non-alcoholic beer in the Zeven Zonden series; steinie bottle from the AD Delhaize Zwijnaarde, shared with Goedele. Snow white, very moussey, thick and stable, membrane-lacing head, clear yellow-golden blonde robe with some lonely bubbles here and there. Aroma of dried lemon zest, white bread crust, fresh rucola, garden cress, white pepper, unripe orange, dried lemongrass, plaster, papier maché. Dryish onset, a tad sourish even but still with a sweetish note, softishly carbonated with fruity hints of oxidized green apple, pear and green melon, but all very subdued; somewhat glueish, yet - for this ABV - surprisingly 'full' mouthfeel. Cereally-sweetish, grainy core under aromatic hoppiness reminiscent of lemon zest, mandarin, rucola and garden cress, even a hint of stewed leek; hop bitterness remains soft and elegant but adds some body to a thinning finish, in which - typically for a low ABV blonde - a chalky note lingers as well. Non-alcoholic (or very low-alcoholic) beers are all the hype in Belgium these days, and get better and better all the time; this one, to me, is one of the best so far, leaving most other new alcoholfree beers behind it. Pleasantly surprised, I must honestly admit.

Ruby colour, moderate sized creamy pinkish off-white head; aroma of cherry and very intensive marzipan; taste is the same with some syrupy and also hoppy bittery notes; really good one
