Small pink head over veiled, deep dark red beer. Very almondy, almost perfumey nose with cherry stones, cherry pie filling, marzipan. Again almonds, also brown cand sugar, cherryjuice. Perfumed, and certainly not tasting 100% natural. Even the present acidity seems citric, rather than cherry. Little bit of wry-ish wood. Feels strangely well-bodied for a fruitbeer. Good carbonation. Mix of convincing real and fake promesses. The real just doesn't convince well enough.

Bottle pour at the The Belgian Brewers' Bash in Washington DC. Poured a light golden yellow, mostly yellow, with a small white head. Aroma was sweet, moderate malts, grain. Flavor was light sweet malts, light bitterness, very mild herbal notes. Relatively clean.

At 't Deurp, Werchter (Belgium.) A cloudy dark brown, almost black, with a thick, long-lasting, tawny head. Aroma is plum, dates, blackcurrant, cocoa. Sweetish onset, powerful and acidic midpalate. Full-bodied and slightly bitter finish. Niiiiice.

Small, fine, if rather stable cream-russet head over almost black deep-brown beer. Sharp nose with acetic acid, but also acetone. Hints of black chocolate, aromatic wood. Again a certain, slightly aggressive acidity, superimposed on partly bitter, partly dull-sweet flavours, again chocolatey. Finish is sharp-bitterish. Wood, alcohol, astringent banana. Warming up, sour dark grapes. Well-bodied, even as I seem to get some acidthinning. Medium carbonation. Martha has brown eyes and nailpolish.
