Bottle. Cloudy orangish blond with lace. Honey and apricot/peach aroma. No hops in the nose. Kind of fruity, estery. Flavor also very estery, with malt, a bit of honey, peaches or apricots. Very bland, could really use some hop flavor and aroma. Nicely rich and smooth body.

375 ml bottle into tulip, best by 10/14/2013. Pours slightly cloudy brick red color with a nice and dense 2 fingers of pink colored head with fantastic retention that reduces to a lasting lacing cap. Thick lacing clings to the sides of the glass as well. Aromas of tart cherries, cherry juice sweetness, spices, and a bit of vinegar. Some nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of sweet cherries, spices, and a bit of tart cherry as well. Pretty dry finish, but there is a bit of cherry sweetness that hangs around for a bit. Light-medium bodied with medium carbonation. A bit of a creamy and syrupy mouthfeel is present. No alcohol noticed at all as expected for being 4%. Sweetness of this beer is not cloying at all, and this drinks extremely well. Overall a very nice and tasty kriek! I will have to check out the oude kriek vieille soon.

Bottle from Utobeer. It pours deep purple, with a quickly dissipating light pink head. The nose is sweet raspberry, red grape, and very subtle raspberry tartness. The taste is juicy raspberry, red grape, wood, plum skin, bit of blackcurrant jam, cherry and Bakewell tart, with a refreshingly tart finish. Medium body and lively carbonation. Not overly complex, but well balanced and very drinkable. Would love to have an older one of these to get more sourness from it.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Oluttupa Viisi Penniä, 20110924) The beer poured golden and quite clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had alcohol, honey and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, honey, alcohol, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, boozy and bitter. The alcohol was pushing through too heavily but the taste and the aroma were decent.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on September 17. Pours a hazy golden colour with a huge white head. Smell is sour and leathery. There are hints of grass, both the fresh and the not so fresh kind. There is also a floral quality to the smell and yet, in some ways, it smells like a barn that is currently in use. Taste is very sour and fresh. Hints of vinegar and wine. There is also yeast, green apples and un-ripe fruits.
