Description
Brewing high-quality beer, without excessive alcohol content, is what it’s all about. The name Sonnen Hill comes from Sonne, which translates to sun and our family name Hill.

Sonnen Hill was founded in 2017 and we started brewing beer in 2018. For our first two years we were a very small operation and only distributed products to bars and restaurants across Ontario. In 2020, we opened our bottle shop in the height of the pandemic and now sometimes send beer to other provinces across Canada and countries in Europe and Asia. We are family-owned and -operated and are a small team of passionate individuals who work very hard to produce the quality products that we do.

4pack of cans from Spacecraft in Sudbury, ON. Slightly hazy yellow pour, with a medium white head. Crackery cereals, with a light pine resin hop note. Clean, Crisp, and extremly drinkable. Refreshing, and a welcome beer after some yard work. It is what it is, and it nows that, and it excels at that.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear gold, effervescent, with a fluffy, pure white head. Light sweet flavour with mellow husky grain bitterness, pale biscuits, grass, straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Balanced finish, some crispy and dry pale biscuits, subtly bitter hay, pale grain. Drinks quite well.

Pale, bright. Medium head. Sourish, tart, buttery, this is off…hard to pin down if it’s the line or the fermentation but it’s not right.

750mL bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with minimal white head. Aroma has rustic saison yeast, weeds, tons of chamomile. Flavour has wild yeast, white wine gummie, dry wood. Very solid; nice and dry, lots of herbal character.

Hazy and pale, and thin head. Floral and a touch yeasty. There's a nice buggy note here and the floral accents complement the sweet base malt. Off-dry finish. Mild acidity. Pretty good.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Hazy blonde gold with small white head. Lightly bitter dandelion note (kind of arugula-like flavour), feint oak, just a hint of chamomile, rustic saison yeast, fairly dry, oddly enjoy this blend more than I expected.
