Bottiglia.

Bottle bought at Chichester Beerex 2024. They were selling them for a Fiver on the stage. Opaque dark amber. Thin but bubbly white head. Aroma is warming. Boozy, dark fruit and malts. A sweetness to it. Caramelised fruit. Citrus edge, alongside a more boozy element. Marmalade but a very sugary example. Medium-heavy bodied. Oily. Soft carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Sweet and sugary with the barrel aging then providing a counterbalance.

0.25 l bottle from 'Craft Bier Bude', 2024 vintage, bottle #266. Clear, deep ruby with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of molasses, caramel, vanilla and raisins. Very sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity taste of molasses, vanilla, raisins, dark honey and some prunes, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, minimally boozy finish. Full body, smooth and oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Rich but well-balanced and sophisticated brew, very tasty.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark red, fairly transparent, with moderate white foam, very fine. Aroma some caramel and toasty feeling, but moderate, and some smoked. Body is average, smooth, with low carbonation and with an alcoholic tenor. Taste is fairly sweet, persisting, with the alcoholic feeling, in the final.

Bottle from the Beer Shop Hitchin. Looks perfect in the glass and a huge rich malty aroma on the nose. The taste? Way too sweet for me. In fact undrinkably sweet for my palate. Went down the drain.
