Definitely red wine forward on the mouthfeel, and flavor, but the vanilla and currants carry it throughout nicely, even on the nose the sweetness and tannic notes are about 50/50. Not decadently sweet but nice medley or meadley hehehehe of flavors.

4/VII/21 - sample on tap @ DOK bierfestival (Ghent), BB: n/a (2021-586) Thanks to the GBV-crew for sharing today’s beers!

Clear pale blond yellow cider, small creamy white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots an lots of apple juice, a bit soapy as well, funky touch, oxidized, some honey, bubble gum, lots of green apples and apple skin as well. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish, lots of apple juice, sweet and sugary, some alcohol noticeable. Aftertaste: a little soapy, sweet, green apples, sugary, soft acidity, nice! Not getting much of that (dry) hop though? Maybe I’m not trained enough yet in the cider/cyser dept…

Pours unclear, pink amber. Small, nearly no head. Scent is very full, intense fruity, raspberry mostly. Taste is tart, sharp, lactic. Raspberry intensity, cherry provided a full backbone. Very nice fruity beer, perhaps not the most complex or balanced though.

Bottle from Geers. Hazy orange, thin, off-white head. Aroma of plum, redcurrant, sourdough, sour yoghurt, gooseberry, unripe red apple. Taste has very sour plum, green apple & redcurrant, lemon & lactic acid in good balance, bit bready-yoghurty malty with a swirl of vinegar. Tart, quite sour fruity finish, more woody & vinegary funkiness, lingering plum peels. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Mouth-puckering yet still refreshing Sour.
