Description
Saint Somewhere Brewing Company is a brewer of traditional Farmhouse ales located in Tarpon Springs, Florida. We are a small batch brewery using only the finest ingredients available. Belgian malt and wheat, whole noble hops and open fermentation add to the complexity of our ales. Our beers are unfiltered and re-fermented in the bottle, not engineered, but truly hand crafted.

Sample at the Beer βN Rock Band tasting on 08/27/2010: Acquired via trade. Pours a murky reddish-orange color with a medium thick and fluffy light tan head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, spices and fruit. Light and effervescent body with flavors of caramel, yeast, nutmeg and cherries. The finish is malty at first and leaves a yeast and sweet spice aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle Pours out a cloudy amber topped with a tall off white head. Aroma was nice hits you with a ton of spices and fruit. Taste was solid Brett, funk, spice, sweet fruits and a nice pepper end. A solid example of a saison. I always love stuff from Saint Somewhere now known as the other Florida brewery. At one time they were one of the only Florida ticks.

I know this brewery has a lot of variability when it comes to bottles, but I guess I got one of the good ones. I picked a bottle at the Wine & Cheese Place in St. Louis that was itching to have its cork popped. Turned out this was dated 2009 . The cork popped loudly but the beer did not gush out. Poured beautifully with a fiery orange, amber color. Head is medium large and long lasting. Aroma hits you with brett, wild and citrusy. Then there is fruity biscuit malt. Well attenuated with a sweet perception but no sugary mess about. Similar in flavor, easy drinking but full of flavor. For me, this was a bretty Biere de Garde. I loved it. Mouthfeel was good, not overly carbonated but felt strongly enough to fit in line with the rest of the beer. Could not pick out the adjuncts specifically but these beers always have a lot going on with them. When St. Somewhere is on they are really on. But 11 bucks is a large price to keep taking the chance.
