At CBF Rapperswil. Deep orange-amber color with white head. Aroma is light fruit and freshness, some butter, but not too much. Fresh fruity taste, not bad. Not as weird as other California Commons.

Tap at CBF. Floral aroma, quite nice. Taste is killed by carbonization though. Maybe it needs to be warmer?

Tap at CBF. A benchmark porter! Nice coffee and caramel aromas, a full taste with matching carbonization. Beautiful!

(330ml bottle from La Mise en Bière, Lausanne) Pours hazy dark amber with a small whitish ring of head and lace. Aroma has a large sweet caramel component with a bit of grain, strawberry, faint citrus, pine resin but not very distinct, muddled aroma. Flavour is quite sweet crystal malt character at the start that quickly and completely dries out with a big resinous bitterness, astringent and slightly medicinal in the finish and aftertaste. A muddled fruitiness like a canned fruit cocktail where nothing is very punchy. Lighter body verging on watery despite bitterness, average carb. Lacks a bit of focus.

Bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier; brewed 21Oct2014, bb 21Oct2015
Black color, with small head. Aroma of roasted malt, cardboard, cream, light vanilla. The mouthfeel is smooth and round; dark malt flavor, not too roasty nor ashy; it has some leather and tobacco, very light vanilla and lactose; some yeast too, but it’s easily hidden in such beers.
Nice.

Black color with large compact head. Mild metallic aroma of roasted malts. Medium body, roasted malt flavor, a bit milky and metallic, drier in the final.
Nice, but another beer from the brewery that needs some tuning with the yeast.

Hazy amber color with small compact head. Some aroma of malt, sweat, dust, yeast; metallic. Good body; but the malt has a grainy and metallic character, there is an evident presence of yeast; strong bitterness, but not much hop qualities, just a bit of resins, and a touch of chicory in the end.
Nice but not impressive.

Bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier; brewed 03Nov2014, bb 03May2015
Hazy copper-amber color with medium sized compact head. The aroma is fresh, delicate, fruity and a bit floral; peach and apricot. Dry mouthfeel; the malt profile is rather simple, with a feeling of paper; relatively strong bitterness, a bit resiny, but more hop quality is expected.
Nice.

Cloudy dark blond color with generous head. Dry beer with a strong cereal character, crackers, strong bitterness, a bit grassy and vegetable in the final.
Interesting.

Cloudy golden color, with small head. Mellow Ale, moderately carbonated, with light sweetness, light fruity touch, and almost no spicy character.
Not bad, but it tastes like Unibroue and many other American attempts at Belgian Ales.
