Cask at the Victoria Inn, Rugby, 30/10/13. Clear copper with a good sized off white cap. Nose is bready malts, light fruit, bread dough. Taste comprises bitter fruit, light spice, woody, earthy, bread dough, Medium bodied, fine carbonation, good condition on this one, lgiht fruty bitterness to close. Ok bitter.

Cask at MoCa, Matlock. Golden colour, with a light haze. Bubbly, white head that lasts. Aroma has some grapefruit. Some orange. Taste is bitter fruitiness. Very zingy and fresh. Could do with more maltiness, for me, but nevertheless, very drinkable.

Gravity at Steel City Beer Festival 2013, Sheffield - Pale yellow body, little white head, nose of yeast and bread with a little citrus. Quite a refreshing beer, almost like a palate cleanser. Very nice.

On cask at Three Stags Heads, Wardlow Mires - Dark brown body, thin white head. Lots of malt and toffee in the nose, a bit of toasted nuts too. The body is a little thinner than the others tonight, but not too much of a problem. Taste has a nice little bittersweet kick at the end. Not bad.

On cask at Three Stags Heads, Wardlow Mires - Golden body with frothy white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with floral notes, grass and citrus. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, pineapple and grassy hops. Rather light body, with a pleasant sweetness. Quite refreshing.

On cask at Three Stags Heads, Wardlow Mires - Nearly the same as Black Mass, but looks much better (perhaps looked after a little bit better). Thick black body with a thick lacing beige head. Liquorice and coffee in the nose, with an rich oily mouthfeel, and a rich bitter fruity finish. This is worth seeking out in my opinion, so set your SatNavs to SK17 8RW!!!!!

On cask at Oktoberfest at Hull University - A cloudy yellow body, thin white head. Nose is spruce, very hop heavy, lots of citrus there too. Taste hits first with a hoppy bitterness, then follows through with the citric finish. It’s okay, but the bitterness does tend to be on the overpowering side.

On gravity from Oktoberfest @ Hull University - not the most appealing look, dull black with a little beige froth, but being a gravity pour I’ll forgive that. Lots of rich liquorice and coffee in the nose, with an oily mouthfeel, and a rich bitter fruity finish. I like this a lot and would probably rate higher if it had the luxury of a cask pull

Gravity cask at the Solihull CAMRA beer festival 2013. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is malt with a little citrus fruit and a hint of barnyard. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth malt liqourice palate and a lovely lingering bitter finish.

Gravity cask at the Solihull CAMRA beer festival 2013. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is citrus fruit and dark chocolate. It smelled like Orange Matchmakers. Remember those?? The flavour is medium bitter with a malt, liqourice, chocolate, slightly sweet palate. A super beer I must say and great when served at room temperature.
