Can. Just a light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth caramel malts, a light and semi dry creamy malt. A modest alcohol spice starts to tingle in the mid, but there is no heat here, not for an old soak like me anyway! Fair rich ripe fruits on the back end, rich and smooth. Finishes smooth and semi dry and moderately spicy. A decent barleywine but tastes quite immature to me. This one needs time, I would say 3 years min, just to develop.

Cask @ Tap and Can. Pours a misty golden yellow, white head. Lightly floral nose. Flavour profile bears a very gentle hop presence, light floral shades, not much else to speak of. Comes across like a very low strength pale.

21/12/2023. Cask at The Ale House Chelmsford Christmas Beer Festival. As Almasty Best Bitter, same abv. Pours clear bright golden amber with a small bubbly white head. Good pour. Aroma is buttery, caramel, malt, fruit, bread, hints of spice and sulphur. Quite sweet with moderate bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Had a lot better from Almasty.
