Bottle at Chriso going Dutch tasting, 03/07/14. Clear golden amber with a decent off white head that stays for the show. Nose is bitter orange, lemon peel, spice, straw, light soap. Taste comprises sharp citric fruit, tangy orange, pithy citrics, straw, tartened fruit, sharp lemon intake. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Poor for style, where’s the hop presence?

Copper colour. Aroma and flavour have massive amounts of light malts. The finish is bitter. Overly malty and quite thin. Possible defective.

33 cl bottle, shared. Clear golden color. Fair white head with good retention. Aroma’s: grassy hops, malt/grain, slightly vegetal. Also somewhat fruity and bitter retronasal. Flavor is moderate bitter with a grainish malty backbone. Light to medium bodied. Finishes with a solid bitterness, slightly earthy. Pleasant enough.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Firstly, let me say that this beer has clearly been brewed to keep beer drinkers healthy. Thanks NOT ! This GUSHED all over my wallet, phone, laptop then all over the table as in my panic stricken state I was holding it up there like a bloody Roman Candle and not knowing what to do with the damn thing. I’d have chucked the bastard out of the window had I not been on the 28th floor of a hotel with fuggin’ sealed units! Well, after clearing up the carnage, there was about half the bottle left. Not good value for money eh. The aroma was yeast, citrus with a light sweet flavour and a toffee caramel malt palate. Medium bodied with nuclear powered carbonation! A nice enough beer but i’m getting really tired of these gushers from the Netherlands and it’s mainly Dutch brewers that have these problems. It should not be sold commercially until these problems have been ironed out!

Bottle [thanks to bierkoning] @ home. Gusher. Clear orange color, medium sized off-white head. Smell malts, hay, slightly hops. Taste malts, straw, some caramel, bitter, again only slightly hops. Too much carbonation that gets in the way of the flavors. Meh.

Clear orange-amber colour, big flocky off-white head, reduces gradually to foamy layer. Aroma wheat, apricot, bit caramel, grass, yeast, some ginger. Taste medium sweet and bitter, fruity and spicy undertones. Medium body, creamy texture, over-carbonated. Rather mild bittersweet finish. Not really a bad beer but a far cry from an American pale ale.

Draught @ Nederlands Speciaalbier Festival Den Bosch 2014. Clear golden color, average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma is malts and hops. Taste malts, bitter hops, bitter. Basically an English style IPA. Since it was intended as a session IPA according to the information given at the festival, I would have liked it to be a bit more fruity, so a bit more APA basically. Still it’s a nice beer.
