About
Odyssey is a small family run brewery established in the rural surrounds of a National Trust estate in Herefordshire in 2014. We brew in a building that is at least 400 years old but our beers are modern and forward looking.

Because we are small, independent and committed to staying that way, we focus primarily on only two styles of beer - hop forward (of any colour) and big, indulgent stouts, with the occasional Barley Wine thrown in for good measure. Our hoppy beers are unfined and hazy but we seek to retain some bitterness and drinkability - East Coast brews with a West Coast vibe.

All of our beer is produced for keg or can.

Can shared in London - cheers! Pours lightly cloudy orange-gold with a creamy, white head. Flavour holds rich pale malts, some meringue, ripening citrus fruits. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Sugary finish, a little warming, more jammy citrus. Good stuff overall.

Keg at Heidrun, 08/12/20. Hazed fruit juice orange with a well presented white cap. Nose is orange pith, light pine, grass, grapefruit, ripe melon. Taste comprises melon, pine needle, juicy tropical fruits, melon, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with balanced juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough IPA.

Can from This Is Beer. Appearance - cloudy yellow to orange. Close to snow white head. Quite gushy again. Nose - interesting combination of citrus and pungent guava. Taste - guava, lychee and still some citrus. Palate - creamy and near enough medium bodied. Dry, zesty finish. Overall - nice beer.

Can from This Is Beer. Appearance - Odyssey beers all seem to gush a bit when the can is opened. This one was a particular example. I may have lost up to a quarter. Anyway, cloudy yellow. White head. Nose - pinepple and lemon. Taste - orange this time, with still plenty of pineapple. Palate - close to medium bodied, creamy texture, bitter (but not too bitter) finish. Overall - nice, but disappointed with over-carbonation.

Can from This Is Beer. Appearance - hazy yellow with a big snow white head. Nose - pineapple plus slightly pungent mango. Taste - pinepple again, but with a big green resin note cutting through it. It's reminiscent of tomato plant or even green pepper. Palate - tangy and close to medium bodied. Dry, tangy finish. Overall - yes, like this one!

Can from This Is Beer. Appearance - cloudy yellow with a massive white head. Nose - a little elusive through the big head, probably closest to orange zest though. Taste - fresh orange and tinned peach. Palate - light bodied, dry and refreshing through middle and finish. Overall - nice.
