Description
When we started this company, our goal was to keep it as straightforward as possible: to craft flavors and experiences that the people of Maine hadn’t had before, and serve them as fresh as possible. Over the years, as the business has grown, we are now able to share our beers with people in other areas – regionally, nationally, and internationally – but Maine always comes first. We strive to take care of those things closest to us, and let that radiate outward: our staff, our processes for making beer, our tap rooms and loyal customers, and the surrounding communities that support us. Everything we do is in support of these things, we are nothing without them.

Teku showing turbid dark gold and half a finger of clean white foam.

The nose shows intense notes of papaya and guava with hints of cannabis.

The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Papaya forward with light to medium notes of grapefruit zest and a mildly sharp grapefruit bitterness on the finish.

Can taster pour at Rhode Island Brew fest. Opaque black with nice head, decent lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt, chocolate, mild coffee. Taste is sweet, roasted malt, vanilla. Smooth texture, soft carbonation as taste. Lactose makes it a bit too sweet.

Poured from 500mL bottle (batch #3; bottled 03.2024; 13.2% abv). Very dark brown with very minimal beige head. Nice dark fruits on the nose, the bourbon element is feint in the background, light booziness, a bit thin bodied. Okay. Enjoying it more as it warms up (+0.1).

Canned 12/11/25, drunk 1/20/26, as pictured.
Mild hop (wood, lemon, grapefruit) with a tasteful amount of not-very-resinous spruce. Christmasy spice with biscuity malts and overall inviting balance and aromatics.
Quite a bit more spruce comes through in the flavor, with a good deal of malt to balance. I will give them that they got a lot of flavor from the spruce with very low acidity. Some wood and citrus behind it gently adds to the picture from the hops and the malt is deep and attenuated. Well-done, tasteful.

16 ounce can. Hazy orange gold color. Massive, rocky white head is long lasting. Big floral hop aroma has notes of sweet orange, peach and melon. Flavor upfront is bittersweet citrus, pine and apricot. Some resiny pine and black pepper on backend.

16 oz. can. Aroma has bold citrus fruit with mild bready malt. Spruce is very soft in the aroma. But once you sip, no hiding this spruce. Does have a decent malt background with some citrus as a counter point. A very good spruce ale.
