Description
Futtle was brought to life in 2019 by us, Lucy & Stephen, partners in all things life, work and beer.
Now, along with a small team, we make a range of organic beers that follow the seasons here on the edges of the coastal village of St Monans, in the East Neuk of Fife.
Inspired by our love of the farmhouse brewing tradition of Northern Europe, and the Scottish coastline we look out on, we have focused on brewing and blending rustic, nourishing, natural beers that reflect our location.

Keg at Futtle. It pours lightly hazy straw yellow with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is damp grain, hay, very bready, wheat bread, grass, floral, hit of gooseberry, melon and white grape. The taste is dry, firm, hearty bready malt, wheat, straw, hay, biscuit, touch of green fruits, gooseberry and melon with a dry finish. Light body and fine, fluffy carbonation. Feels straightforward initially, but has some nice nuances to it..very drinkable stuff.

Can, but of a gusher picked up at Good Spirits Glasgow. It pours hazy golden with a huge, fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, zingy, tangy, floral, twist of citrus, gooseberry and white grape. The taste is quite crisp, dry, tart, puckering, zingy, gooseberry, white grape, lemon - lime, fragrant, quite floral, touch green, grassy, sherbety vibes, must and a touch of funk with a drying finish. Light body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Fun low abv stuff.

Keg from Bowhouse. Hazy pale golden body with a thick white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of chalky wheat and lemon zest. Flavour of sea salt and lemon. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Light fizz. Subtle and refreshing.

Can direct from the brewery. It pours lightly hazy pale bright gold with a thick fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, funky, clean, vibrant, tangy citrus, sherbet, lime - lime, big blackcurrant vibes, jammy, bramble and granny smith apple. The taste crisp, firmly dry, snappy, sherbet, fizzy cola bottles, definite blackcurrant vibes, bramble, straw, grass, touch of funk, hay and granny smith apple with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Quenching and moreish. Nice but if depth for the abv.
