Ad Astra Cider is a new cider company based in the heart of Somerset. Founded by an RAF Veteran and his family, the name "Ad Astra" is proudly derived from the Royal Air Force motto "Per Ardua Ad Astra".
Ad Astra Cider is made from traditional cider apples, picked, pressed, and fermented on site within 12 acres of beautiful apple orchard. Never from concentrate, the cider is made from freshly pressed juice and is naturally slightly different each year dependent on the environmental conditions during the growing season.

Almost clear golden copper topped with a lasting off white head, pretty strong head for a cider, but does thin in time.
Nose is earthy orchard, light funk, grains, hedgerow, apple skins.
Taste comprises apple core, straw, light funk, herb, trace of caramel.
Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, drying close.
Okay cider.

11/6/2025. Bottle courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear golden with a short lasting frothy white head. Seemed a bit thin on the pour. Aroma is apple, touch funky/musty. Moderate sweetness, light tartness. Quite dry. Watery and fizzy. My least favourite of the 4 Ad Astra’s tried so far.

Moderate sweetness, mild bitterness and tartness. Medium body, lively sparkling carbonation. Drying tannic finish. Likeable.

Aroma is fruity semi-sweet apple, very slight sulphur and caramel. Medium sweetness, drying with light citric tartness. Medium body, light sparkling carbonation. Nicely done.
