Can thanks to McCash. Pours oily black with a thin tan head. Aromas of smoke, whisky, cocoa, wood, vanilla. Taste is more of the same. Rich finish. Nice.

(Cask at Rake, Borough, London, 31 May 2025) Hazy golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, tropical fruit, gooseberries and grass. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, pineapple, tropical fruit, grass and a balanced citric/grassy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Refreshing and hoppy.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Pale golden body with a faint haze and a thick white head. Fine carbonation. Soft fizz. Aroma of lemongrass and lemon. Flavour of grapefruit, salted lemon and herbs. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Juicy and subtle.

Cask at Cloisters. Clear amber body with a tight beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of salted caramel and brown bread. Flavour of toffee and toast. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Rich and malty.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Deep golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of marmalade, peach skin and ginger. Flavour of lemon, ginger and a subtle chilli heat on the finish. Thin to medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Light fizz. An interesting ginger beer, though it’s possibly over complicated.
