440ml can. Pours black with almost no head. Aroma of boozy sherry, whisky, cherries, oaky. Taste is very intense and drinks more like actual sherry or whisky than a beer, so much of it, very woody/oaky, slightly earthy, light chilli kick, some dark/chocolate malts, warming boozy (rather than chilli) finish. Silky smooth mouthfeel.
Awkward to rate this one. Nothing technically wrong with it, and I understand it was intentional but the barrel ageing is far too intense for me to appreciate the beer - made it a struggle to drink. A *very* slow sipper for sure.

Hazy gold, thin white head. Smells of citrus and grapefruit. Flavour has tropical fruit, citrus with grassy hop, pineapple coming through too. Sweet and fruity but with bitterness coming in as well, this is nicely balanced and probably a bit too drinkable for 8%!

Tap at Tilt, Birmingham. Pours black with beige head and decent retention. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, hint of roast, pineapple and berries. Taste of chocolate, light coffee, pineapple, hint of coconut. Semi-dry, good medium body for the strength, fine to frothy carbonation. Enjoyable.

Tight off white head on a mahogany coloured body. Chocolate, malt & roasted aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a foamy back. Dark berries, chocolate, toffee & raisin tastes with a peppery finish. Good. 3.50

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - murky golden orange with a creamy white head. Nose - yep, definitely passionfruit. Some melon and some orange too. Taste - big passionfruit this time. Quite luscious tropical and citrus zest. Palate - medium bodied, creamy middle with a lightly sour and zesty finish. Overall - good.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - murky yellow like homemade lemonade. Snow white, nicely proportioned head. Nose - it smells like homemade lemonade too or at least limeade. Taste - citrus up front with a little peach and something a bit like smoky funk at the back. Palate - light bodied, zesty sour finish. Overall - not so excited by this one.
