Description

Kort

Gourmet-Flasche(aus’m Spitalgarten): Deep amber coloured, presumably not clear, rapidly vanishing loose off-white head; mild nose - slightly sourish - of dark chocolate, toasted malt and dried fruits; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, accompanied by a delicate bitterness, medium bodied, quite soft; lingering sweet-sourish finish, presenting again dried fruits and toasted malt. Not bad, but they surely can make better beers…

Head gone in seconds; jet-black beer. Dry roasted/burnt stout nose, bit of wood and indeed, chocolate. Dry-roasted, if less burnt flavour, and a bit of dry pine needles, resin. Not very well-bodied, and lesser carbonated. Not very stoutish - but good enough in its own.

Dark brown opaque beer with a small yellowish head, not lasting. Strong roasted and vinous/alcoholic notes with raisins, chocolate and wood. Balsamico, raisins and fortified wine (though I wouldn’t have guessed Porto) in the flavour, coming on very strong. Viscous, rich feel, but not really heavily bodied. Ought to be commercialized.

Small white head over (cold) hazy orange beer. American citrussy (mandarine) hops, jumping out of the glass. Bit of very light-caramelly malt. Bitter-citrussy flavour, but well-balanced with the malty underbuild. Medium bodied, well-carbonated. A pale ale worth an IPA. The Mandarine Bavaria dry-hopping really makes it special.

Small yellowish head over hazy pinkish orange beer. Nice hoppy-fruity nose, with lots of citrus and just a bit of allspice. More classical Weizen in the taste: citrus, clove, even nutmet and a touch of alcohol. Rather well-bodied, Long lasting sweetness, turning just a bit caramelly, and again more banana in the finish and aftertaste. Actually quite a nice Weizenbock!
