(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 24 Jan 2009) Pale amber colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of caramel, dark fruit and floral hops. Fruity, malty taste with citrus, orange peel, caramel and fresh grassy/floral hops in the finish. Very fresh and interesting hop character nicely balanced by a clean malt profile. Very nice one. Looking forward to more of these experiments.

Draught at Akkurat. Stockholm. Clear deep golden, rich firm head. Lovely unusual hop aroma with wild strawberries being dominant. Sweet and medium bodied with soft, yet solid mouthfeel. Some sugar and caramel forms the backdrop to a curtain of floral, berry-like hops. Mild and mouthfilling with a bitterness that keeps growing. It’s really fun to exprience how these hops from Julita are working. In this particular beer these hops seem more beautiful than ever, and with the soft doughy malt profile it’s a lovely beer. Perhaps there is just a tad too much sweetness to achieve the desired drinkability.

Draught at Akkurat. Looked great when it was served, black with a nice thick tan head. Rosted taste and medium body. Tasted better in company of Akkurats Black cocolate stout cake!

Draught at Akkurat. Black color. Big, thick and long lasting foam. Roasted aroma. The flavor is kind of creamy (milky) with the usual roasted tones and a small hop bitterness in the aftertaste.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 10 Jan 2009) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Roasted, malty nose with dark chocolate, coffee and hints of wild berries (blueberries, juniper berries). Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee and a perfectly balanced cocoa bitterness in the finish. Medium body, smooth, seductive and almost perfectly balanced. Another brilliant effort from Närke with loads of taste even at this fairly low abv. In short: coffee and chocolate in harmony.

On tap at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. A nice, clear copper body is topped by a dense beige head. Hops dominates the aroma, with pinecones, resin and fluorine. Malty sweetness and caramel too. Caramel-sweet start on the flavor with a quite intense hoppyness soon running the show. Some alcohol too. Full-bodied, sweet and quite warming. The finish is lasting for a good while, with pine and bitterness. The beer isn’t overly balanced, but still very good. (080913)
