Tasting at Matt’s
Pale color, cloudy, with generous head. The aroma is lightly lemony. Dry mouthfeel, lean, highly carbonated; some lactic acid, some lemon.
Refreshing.

Hazy, light tan. Aroma shows more like stale hop, not much brett. Has a mellow brett note, soft pale malts and a sort of floral hop note.

Cloudy, light colour. Bubbly head. Big honeyish nose, like nectar. Fizzy, has a nice bitterness, floral character but the fizz messes with how this comes across the palate. Good, but for the fizz.

310 ml bottle bb Jan 2019 shared by Werckmeister, thanks!
Dark brown body, with a small, creamy, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of whiskey barrel, coconut, dark chocolate, caramel, dark berries, some coffee, alcohol.
Tastes of booze, dominant whiskey, barrel, coconut, dark chocolate, coffee, some liquorice.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes boozy, quite dry, with a lot of whiskey, wood, cocoa, some coffee, some liquorice.
Nice one, although not outstanding. Not very well balanced, with too much booze and whiskey, especially in the taste. Nice dark, smooth malts from the background though. Overall good, but an example of too much barrel aging in my opinion.

ABV according to bottle 10.5%. smells of alcohol, coconut, bit glueish, dried fruits, whisky, alcoholic but still quite good smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes strongly of alcohol, bit musty, coconut, some wood, raisins, lightly glueish. finishes rather alcoholic with some dried fruits / raisins and light coconut notes. horribly alcoholic but still good beer. better to serve this one a bit colder I think..

12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out rich blackberries, some cocoa and bready notes. Flavour is like a pure liquid black forest cake, full of blackberries and light cocoa notes. Just enough sweetness to lend to this. Great balance, with lots of depth. Really nice stuff.
