Craft Islington. Keg. As ’Ich Bin Ein Berliner’ 4.4%. Light haze on this paleish gold beer, small white head. Big apple - cinnamon nose. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Light lemon sourness. Loads of apple and loads of cinnamon. Some cloves. Tart finish. Yep - it’s an apple pie sour. Nice.

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and light hoppy - grass. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 030915

Bottled (thanks tkjukoff!). Reddish colour with small pink head. Aroma is lactic, some fruits, berries and mild tartness to it. Flavour is blueberries, fruits, mild lactic and wooden notes in a nice balance.

Draught @ BBB. Pours slightly hazy pale golden with a rather small frothy offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is spicy with wheat crackers, lemon juice, hay, ginger, cloves, lime leaves, lemon grass and lemon zest. Taste is tiny bitter, tiny sour, tiny fruity, slightly yeasty and spicy. Mouthfeel is dry, tiny tart, slightly spicy astringent and light bodied. Finish is tiny bitter and tiny sour with wheat crackers, lemon juice, hay, ginger, Thai basil, lemon grass, minerals, dry yeast and lemon zest. I remember trying this and loving this when it was a home brew and I remember it having a more prominent banana and clove hefeweizen character. This in turn provided great balance with the ginger and Other Thai spices. This iteration gets a bit heavy on the ginger with nothing else supporting it.
