Bottle 25cl. @ home.Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, grain, vegatable, cardboard. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. It is not a big beer in a small bottle. [20090314]

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a slowly collapsing tan head. Roasted malt, yeast and slight metallic aroma. Overripe fruity flavoured, nice roasted malt base and distinct yeasty spiced note. Smooth roasted malt and fruity flavoured into the finish.

Clear gold in colour with slight carbonation. Skunky, boiled sweet and tired hop aroma. light mouth feel, with sweet, barley sugar flavours and a hint of a bitter finish. Another English pasteurised bottled beer failure - sink pour.

Bottle at home ... WIth home made Steamed Buns ... mmmm... which is more than id really say about the beer... It was decent pairing as it was quite clean with the spiced pork filling ... copper light bubbly white head ... sweet toffee malt ... light sweet slight metalic fruity hop ... clean and simple with a little bitterness.

Bottle at "City Pub" Göteborg during the Gothenburg Beer Festival 2009. On June 11, 2009BB 14/01/10Clear copper color, tan head. Sweet, fruity, lactic scent, some banana. Sweet, malty taste. A bit thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Fifth Bergkönig so far, where’s the end???Pale yellow coloured, small white head, corny nose. Strong barnyard taste with very watery palate. Waste of money. Friendly suggestion: don’t bother with this crap.

0.5l can that ogivlado found at some Aldi store and shared with me (thanks!) Poured a very pale yellow body with a thick small white head that went away at a medium pace. Light corny nose, some vegetables. Weak taste of corn bread, some honey, some acidity. Damn watery. Hard water mouthfeel. Very light bitterness. Overall, blah.

Very good, yellowish tinted head, leaving textbook lace over old gold-coloured beer. Frangipane and fresh malts nose, lightly sweet. Slightly bitter-burnt, very toasted flavour over almondy-sweet malts; with yet again a very fresh (malt) aspect. Empty palate, just some malt syrup. Certainly not as bad as some of Bavaria’s malt liquor offerings, but compared to a real Heller Bock, way too empty. Fresh malts character remains remarkable, however.

33cl Bottle, a gift from Thijs, thanks!?Clear dark golden colour, thin white head. Aroma of fruits and skunky hops, some grain and water with sugar. Flavour is light fruity, light sour grainy, like a cheap strong lager, grainy bitter finish. Less than medium bodied. A very poor attempt to a Belgian ale.

Bottle (thank bierkoning!). Deep red with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel, honey, malt and some light metallic hints. Sickly sweet flavor with caramel, a bit of fruitiness and alcohol. Light-bodied.
