Drank during France 4 Australia 1 WC game. Brewed at Freedom. Clear gold, small white top. Sweet, citrus, gooseberry and malt in aroma. Not unexpected from Freedom but it does taste like a lager with some Australian hops thrown in. A little thin. Clean with some fruitiness but lacks a crispness you would get from a decent lager so arguably worst of both worlds. Nonetheless its fine and very drinkable, just a bit dull.

Cloudy lemonade pale yellow colour with brief fizz on top. Mixed lemon aroma being part confectionary part natural. Taste of lemon and apple skins, quite watery and not particularly intense or tart or sour. A refreshing pleasant easy drink though. A nice alternative to lemonade.

Clear gold with small white top, nice lacing. Biscuit malt, citric and slight perfumed floral aroma. A touch astringent and dry but the palate adapts, certainly zesty and floral. Nice smoothness to the body, toasty malts in the finish. Its ok.

Clear gold with small white top, little retention. Malty wafer, slightly grassy and earthy hop in aroma. Taste again is quite malty, between wafer and biscuit, floral and spicy hop, touch of lime. Crisp finish helped by the carbonation. Fairly simple but its not bad.

Clear dark gold with small white top, minor retention. Standard malty aroma with some light grass and spice hop. Taste of grains, toffee, grass, light spice. Crisp carbonation, bitter finish. Not bad and better than expected.

Bottle from Aldi, Coleshill @ 5.5%. Pours a clear amber with moderate sized tight off-white head, nice retention and lacing Aroma of metal, sweet grain malts, light banana. Not picking up much rum. Taste of sweet grainy malts, alcohol, light rum note, light banana and fruity tang, grassy bitterness. Flavours are all there but subdued. Medium bodied, smooth and slightly cloying. Not bad although a little underwhelming.

Can from Aldi, Coleshill. Pours black, small beige head, some retention. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, orange extract, does have a chocolate orange nose to it. Chocolate malts dominate the taste at first and then that orange element comes in, quite sweet with a modest roastiness. Simple but tasty on repeated sips. Its good for the price, slightly artificial but there is enough good malt ingredients here to make it an honest beer.

Can from Aldi, Coleshill. Pours a clear gold, small white head, leaves some retention on top. Aroma of sweet malts, corn, grass, lemon. Standard. Taste is very sweet light malts, tangy citrus, light vegetal and grain, grassy bitter finish. Light bodied but with a smoothness and moderate but zingy carbonation. I actually enjoyed this, simple, sweet, slight citrus tang, with a punchy crisp grassy bitterness.

Can. Bright clear gold with small white head. Aroma of slightly artificial grapefruit extract with a basic malt background. Taste of tinny grapefruit flavouring although not unpleasant, resinous mouthfeel, spiky carbonation, building almost harsh bitterness possibly from hop extract as not getting much hop flavour. Very poor for an IPA but more than drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with moderate beige head. Aroma is roasty, dark chocolate, faint plum. Taste is malty with chocolate, liquorice, plum and a herbal bitter finish. Just shy of medium bodied but a nice smoothness. Good.
