500ml bottle from Utobeer. Cloudy dark brown, big thick beige head. Really quite sweet on the malts, a bit like the straight weizen, it lacks any real flavour or character.

500ml bottle from Utobeer. Cloudy orange gold, very thick lasting rocky off white head. A fairly light tasting weisse with only moderate character. Little bit of bubblegum throughoutI. It’s ok, just lacks some depth of flavour and character.

(Draught at The Rake, Southwark, London, 17 Apr 2009) Golden colour with brief, white head. Malty nose with bread, grass, hay and hints of pineapple. Malty taste with notes of bread, grass and hay. Clean and fresh with balanced sweetness and a mild, grassy bitterness. A solid German pilsener.

Bottle, 5.5%. Weak buttery aroma, spicy, but buttery nonetheless. Almost clear golden colour. Small white head. The flavour also has a little butter, perhaps some plastic.

Bottle, 6.9%. Weak marcipan aroma. Clear golden colour. Almost no head. The flavour is a little citric, and there is a hint of marcipan. Not the fat kind, but still slightly disturbing. OK, but not so interesting.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts strong and malty, modest spicy, grasy-metallically finish. Good Weihnachtsbier!

500ml bottle, bb.26.05.09, bought at a Galeria Kaufhof in Stuttgart Mitte. Golden body with brilliant clarity. Quickly disappearing white head. Light aroma of pale malts. Flavour of sweet and soft maltiness with noticeable support of earthy hops. Lively carbonated. Clean lager texture, uncomplicated and food friendly (shared with Eva, Tromsø. 09.04.2009)

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Starts spicy, not too strong, good use of hops. Well balanced finish, very drinkable. Really good festbier!
