25/VII/15 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle @ Trillium tasting, home - BB: n/a (2015-990) Thanks to sebletitje for sharing the bottle!

Clear amber to red brown beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of coffee, more coffee, bit of caramel, sweet touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of coffee, bitter, more coffee. Aftertaste: coffee, coffee, and that's it. Ok, I'm not a big fan of coffee, but this beer just lacks any depth and complexity...

355ml can. Pours black-brown in colour with a foamy off-white head leaving lots of lacing. Nose is liquorice, roast malt, fruity hop. Flavour of dark malt, toffee. chocolate & coffee, with some tangy grapefruity hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Very drinkable BIPA.

2014 is based on Cabernet Sauvignon. Waxed and corked 375 from Corti Brothers. Pours a rose copper with no real head. Aroma is very red grape. Suggestions of wood and sour - but ... Flavor is red grape and wood. Somewhat astringent. Drinks like a decent red wine, except for indications of hop and malt. Really delicate given the ABV. The 2013 was more of a rose wine; 2014 seems to be more of a red wine. Maybe the grapes were more intensely flavored this year.
