Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Pours โbitter brownโ with a small off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is musty and bready. In the mouth it is sweet and light with traditional hops, plus oranges, bread rolls and a hint of ginger. Finish is slightly dry and bitter. Itโs OK, but rather nondescript.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A pale amber pour with a tight creamy cream coloured head; biscuity aroma; creamy in the mouth with a biscuity taste and a slight fruity sourness; then a grassy bitterness to finish. A solid, satisfying, but rather underwhelming beer.

Anyone expecting an overdose of citra hops here will be disappointed โ the rest of us will be relieved ! Cask at Butlers Bell, Stafford. Pours a golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma, but some vanilla and biscuit. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy with floral hops and hints of honey and cinnamon. Later on some tangerine comes through, and the finish is quite citrus heavy. Quite nice โ despite the unfortunate name.
