Cask at the White Swan JDW, Solihull. Poured a clear golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light sweet citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, yeasty, light floral, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Generally unpleasant. Bought a pint and left almost all of it.

Cask @ JDW Shrewsbury Hotel. Pours gold with a small white head. Aroma of pale malt, golden ale sweetness. Taste presents a standard cask blonde, light and smooth with distant citra suggestions. Ok.

Well, the first thing to say is this beer is NOT black – or anywhere near it. Pours a dark ruby red with a small cream head and good lacing. Cask in Babington Arms, Derby. Has a simple aroma of roasted malts. Mouthfeel is mainly of sweet malts with a slightly watery texture. There are dark fruits too with hints of liquorice and a slightlly smoky edge. Finish is both bitter and malty. Reasonable, but not very distinctive.

26/8/2021. Cask at the 2021 East Anglian Beer Festival, Bury St Edmunds. Pours clear bright gold with a bubbly/frothy white head. Aroma of sweet malt, sweet tropical fruits, stone fruit, grass, caramel, biscuit, hedgerow berries. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Sweet and fruity finish. Liked this.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford Pours a golden yellow with a tight white head and good lacing. Has a vague musty, malty aroma. In the mouth the texture is smooth and creamy, with flavour being citrus-led. Lemongrass and some grapefruit together with malts. Finish is slightly bitter. A good no-nonsense drinking beer.

On cask at the White Lady. Appearance - amber rather than golden. Creamy white head. Nose - white grape and kiwi. Taste - more grape and kiwi with zingy grapefruit or lime closing out the finish. Palate - light bodied, creamy texture. Balanced bitterness on the finish. Overall - very nice.
