Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Very dark red with a creamy head. It has an interesting buttermilk taste with a light sweetness. This dominates over its dark malts and provides a smoothness. Its aroma is milk.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Mid- to dark brown, translucent with a loose off-white head. Light chocolate and coffee aroma with touches of blackberry. Bittersweet, chalky taste with slight sourness in the finish. Decent porter but a bit ho-hum.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Golden and clear with a full white head. Floral and slightly buttery aroma with light citrus. Bitter, fruity taste with intense astringency in the finish. Kumquat peel and physalis in the aftertaste. Interesting, and grows on me.
