Description
Beer for purists. Pure & Simple. Here, amidst the pure shores and rolling glens of the Isle of Man, Okell's has been defined by our beautiful Island for over 170 years and guided, in all that we brew, by its unique Brewing Purity Law.

Dr. William Okell, a Cheshire surgeon, started Okell's Brewery in Castle Hill, Douglas, Isle of Man in 1850. He was a man of singular drive and ambition - by 1874 Dr. Okell owned many of the pubs on the island, had convinced Tynwald (the Isle of Man's parliament), to create an act ensuring the purity of beer brewed on the Isle of Man, and built The Falcon Steam Brewery just outside Douglas.

It's A Continuing Tradition...
We care about the beers we make, and for our Head Brewer Kevin Holmes, it's a never ending passion to create the perfect pint of Okell's. Making the perfect pint from only 4 ingredients is a special skill handed down by generations of Master Brewers.

Continuing our tradition of innovation, Okell's has the only wide gap plate and frame heat exchanger for heating the wort in the Copper in the British Isles.

In my professional drunken opinion these O'kells beers are perfect- solid staying head, good colour. The aroma is just a soft biscuit, however. Flavour is a very mellow malt with soft mentions of brown sugar. Medium finish. A very casual bitter, subtle and just okay in that respect.

On tap in Port Erin. Again with the perfect solid head and slightly cloudy gold body. Soft aroma of graham cracker and hops. Flavour is subdued hops with cracker hints. Medium finish could use more body. But nonetheless a good casual session IPA.

Pours a clear yellow gold colour with a small smooth near white head. A light malt and fruity aroma, citrus and tropical. A moderately sweet malty taste, citrus peel bitterness in a lasting finish.
