Description
The Amber Brewery is a family, independent brewery. With pride we continue the brewing tradition of Pomerania, in which the surroundings of Gdansk is famous since the Middle Ages. Thanks to family passion and original, traditional recipes we create unique, regional products.

The Amber Brewery is one of the most modern small and medium brewery companies in Poland. Located in the midst of morainal hills surrounding Gdansk, the Brewery proudly continues excellent brewery traditions present in this region for centuries.

Every brand is for us individual and unique. That is why each of them is promoted in a different way, taking into account customs connected with the consumption of individual beer kinds and the judgments of consumers.

On tap at Pub Kino, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral hops and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is quite mild, with floral hops and crisp biscuity malt. Nothing wrong with this - just pretty light and lacking ambition. It's alright.

Barwa ciemnobrunatna, lekko przebłyskuje, piana jasnobeżowa, dość obfita, całkiem dobrze się trzyma. W aromacie niewiele się dzieje, trochę ciemnych słodów, muśnięcie kawy. W smaku czekoladki z alkoholem, trochę wędzony (!), minimalna kawa, ciemny chleb, niska paloność i goryczka. Wysycenie średnie, ciało średnie. W ogóle nie ma RISowego charakteru, bardziej jest to Porter Bałtycki i to też mocno przeciętnej jakości. Jedno ze słabszych piw Po Godzinach.

Pigs Ear. Bottle, thanks to Keen. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Light palate, mildly crisp. Thin dark malts, slightly tangy. Thin dark malt cream and a trace of dark chocolate. Light smooth finish. A touch bland but strangely drinkable.

Pigs Ear afterparty at Chez Smith. Almost clear amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy caramel malts, little cream, some oxidised tasting caramel. Touches of paper and spice. Light dry finish brings ripe citrus. Lacks any maturity or depth but it's not awful by any stretch.

Bottle. Black colour, frothy beige head. Aroma is intensive cherry, some coffee. Heavy sour. Does not taste like a beer. Messy, not pleasant to drink.

20th Feb 2018; Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting in Chez Sophie. 500ml from me (via Beers of Europe), BBD 20th May 2018. Cloudy/milky orange body, huge white head on each glass. I thought this a decent Hefeweizen in every way, had banana, vanilla and yeasty notes in both the nose and taste; nicely done.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb 18. Thanks to Jeremy for this! Pours misty yellow, small white head. Some soft wheaty yeasty banana on the nose. Crisp, fresh, summery, not overly smooth or yeasty thankfully. Good, light, sessionable.
