Description
Heineken España started its operations in Spain in 1984. In that year the Madrilenian brewery of El Águila, founded in 1900, was acquired. The next year Heineken El Alcázar, founded in 1928, was acquired. As usual by Heineken the brand wasn't brewed for many years, but it was reintroduced in 2019. It is brewed in Jaén. In 2000 the major merger of Heineken España and Cruzcampo took place. Cruzcampo was founded in Seville in 1904 by Roberto and Tomás Osborne Guezala. The brand has 4 breweries in Madrid, Jaén, Valencia and Seville. The latter city has been home to a brand new factory since 2008, which replaces the old 1904 brewery.

The aroma is malty and slightly sour - a boring aroma. The color is yellow and it has a very tiny disappearing head. The flavor is sour malty probably from brewing cereal. This is a plain boring lager. It was much better 12 years ago in Sevilla in the hot summer.

Bottled. Amber colour. Fruity and yeasty. Sweet and sugary with empty mouthfeel. A simplistic and industrial, yet welcome, break from the Spanish beer desert. Too bad it's not much better than semi-desert.

Clear amber color, medium head, not real longlasting. Aroma is very nice, fruity amber malty. Quite sweet taste, red ale like. Short bit sticky palate.

Blond lager. Cheap aroma of soda and light malt. Simple taste, but pretty enjoyable dry character and bitterness, also pretty strong palate. A good one among the Heinekens.
