Pours near black with a dark tan head. The aroma is overwhelmingly of peppermint. The sweet flavor, at first, is mostly peppermint. As it warms, chocolate malt and a hint of vanilla comes through but there’s still ample mint. It’s enjoyable and quite good, but to me it could have been great with a bigger stout.

12 oz. can from Total Wine - Melbourne. Pours a clear burnt sienna color with a thick beige head and very good retention. Great lacing. Burned nuts aroma with a little background coffee note. The flavor follows the nose. Very dark malt / burned nuts flavor with a little burned brown sugar sweetness and no bitterness. Smooth and clean with low carbonation. The caramel/toffee flavors are very subtle. Medium body.

16 oz. Almost 14 months old. Aroma has notes of candy cane, dark bread, vanilla, coffee. Pours pitch black with a one+ finger dark tan head with excellent retention. Taste is very lightly sweet with a moderate herbal bitterness, finishing dry; flavors like the aroma descriptors. Nice velvety perfectly carbonated mouthfeel. Interesting idea to use a dry Irish stout as the base. Beer has held up well after more than a year. Not bad at all; better than its scores suggest.

12 oz. can. Pours a murky brown color, with a ton of chunks that don't seem to settle. Medium, bubbly, tan head. The aroma is light roast coffee, walnuts, cocoa, maple, and light salt. Sweet and syrupy, with a little bitterness. Creamy and thick. Pretty nice, if not for the sickening floaters.

12 oz. can from Total Wine, Union, NJ. Pours a cloudy copper color with a large beige head and great retention. Decent lacing. Lightly spiced aroma (compared to average). Last new pumpkin beer of the year. The flavor is more pumpkin and less spicy than other pumpkin beers, with cinnamon and nutmeg leading the way. Not bitter. A good way to end pumpkin beer season.
