Description
Volkan beer is the first Greek beer born in Santorini, inspired and made from the finest local ingredients of the Cycladic islands. Santorini is volcanic and unique. Our spectacular island receives little rainfall, so what grows is intense in flavour and aromas and limited in quantity. In brewing Volkan we bring together, lava rock filtered mineral water and the best of local ingredients; rare Santorini grape honey and ancient citrus medica essence from Naxos.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma of floral honey notes are dominant with some light cereal notes. Taste is also a mix of cereal with clear floral honey notes with light residual sugar notes. Body is light with good carbonation. Not the most complex beer out there but enjoyable nonetheless with great honey floral notes.

330 ml bottle. Clear dark amber body with a medium sized, dense, lacing off-white head. Aroma has mild roasted malt, coffee and toast. Flavor has mild roasted, dark malt, caramel, hint of coffee, hint of dry fruit and liquorice, moderate bitterness. Medium body and decent aftertaste. Smooth, rather uncomplicated, but balanced and pretty nice actually.

330 ml bottle. Unclear pale yellow/golden body with a big, dense white head. Quite light in aroma, grain, some yeast and spices. Flavor is medium sweet, mild pale malt, yeast, spices, medium bitterness. The bitterness is a bit sharp, not in a unpleasant way but not practical elegant either. It’s absolutly drinkable, but easily forgotten.
