Bottle. A lighlty oily, well actually sugary, pour reveals a flat, crystal clear deep golden body. The aroma has lots of honey, alcohol and tropical fruityness, with flowers, citrus zest, cellar hints and a distinct herbal touch. I fail to say what herb or herbs though. It's warming, sticky-sweet and full-bodied, with a flavor that feels more tropical-fruity than the aroma. Honey is in the background doing the heavy labor, with orange and grapefruit zest, passionfruit and some herbs and a good dash of alcohol. Some dusty cellar too. Lasting finish. The alcohol feels a bit too pushy in this one, but it's a quite decent and complex mead anyway. 220220

Sample kindly provided by gunnfryd. Clear golden, slightly oily body without any carbonation just a few white bubbles floating around. Quite strong in aroma, honey, herbs, marmalade and Sherry notes. Quite complex and interesting aroma, but the taste surprises in another direction. Much of the same elements as found in aroma, but way out of balance. Honey, marmalade, sugar, herbs, hint of plum (not found in aroma), Marple syrup and alcohol. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Feels quite rough and unfinished, very sweet with distinct alcohol. More interesting than nice.

Bottle. A clear dark golden colored mead, still and headless. Sort of oily. Fruity-sweetish aroma, almost sickyngly sweetish, with a perfumed and sourish touch. It's full-bodied, sticky and lightly sourish, with a mostly fruity, sweet flavor. Some honey and flower, and a good dash of sweetness. Lasting finish. Too sweetish and perfumed this one. 211106
