Niet heel intens. Je proeft vooral de barrel. Bourbon BA was beter

Bottle. Color: Very dark ruby, beige head. Aroma: Caramel, Bourbon. Taste: Moderate to medium sweetish malty, caramel, hints of dark red fruit, nuts and wood. Subtle hints of Bourbon, boozy hints. Bit creamy mouthfeel. Moderate bitterness, mostly at finish. Medium to above medium body, below average carbonation. Bit warming mouthfeel. Easy drinkable, no harsh flavours, no really pronounced flavours but overall a pretty nice BA Barley Wine.

Draught Good snowwhite head over coldhazed orange-golden beer. Lupulin, lunaria, fresh blossoms, verbena (absolutely recognisable). Flowery, verbena again, discreet hops, fruity but not citrussy. Very light MF, light to medium carbonation. If a bit light, a quite nice IPA. The verbena was immediately recognised.

DIPA by Oproer, thanks to the Belgian RateBeer crew for sharing at Gents Bierfestival. Egg-white, thinnish but moussy, open head on a hazy orange blonde beer. Aroma of lots of fresh pink grapefruit, red onions frying in olive oil, ripe mango, sweet paprika. Fruity onset, mango and pineapple, softish carb, soft and 'fluffy' mouthfeel, mellow 'doughiness' underneath a long, very aromatic, grapefruity New World hoppiness with tropical mango edges but at the same time providing a good amount of lingering bitterness, highlighted by warming, gin-like alcohol. Very decent IPA, another confirmation for me that Oproer belongs to the top league of today's Dutch microbrewers.

Thx! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Dark brown. Nose is not bad, dark fruit, figs, desert, pasty, candy, sweetish run,… Nose is fair, taste is not too impressive, soap, thinnish, weak, neutral, leaves, low figs, lacking expression,..; Soapy body.

Thx! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Black, small head. Nose is thin varnish, plastic, dark fruit, low soy sauce,… Lacking barrel, thin, soy sauce (lower), plastic, sweetish, chocolate, plastic,.. Rather thin,… Okay but disappointing for a BA RIS, thinner, plastic, vague soy sauce. Should have def. be better, about on par with the base, served too warm.

Thx! Sampled draft @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Orange, very big white head. Nose is sweet, rather sweet tropical, bit stale hops. Taste is sweetish tropical, low soapy bread, nice sweetish tropical, bit sweat-heavy,… Body is sweetish, touch sugar, some sweat, staler,… Okay but not on par how I remember the first Rooie Dop 24/7 iteration from way, way back.

Thx! Sampled draft @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Golden. Very dry clean but with some weird weeds, almost spices, esters, lingering dry pepper, interesting but bit too much weird weeds, esters, still fair, would expect more given how fresh this is actually.
