Brewery draught, 4/1/23. Clear blonde-brass. Low, white head. Wow, two years and it's dominated by the mosaic still. Not oniony, at least, but just pure sweat. Musty, dirty, sweat. In mouth it's sweat with some bright pineapple breaking through from the Brett. Such a shame. Can't say enough bad things about Mosaic!

Brewery draught, 4/1/23. Clear honey-copper, small, white head to ring. Lactic acidity is soft and there's a vanilla-like character behind it. Maybe some soft tea. Not much acidity in the nose. Sweet up front with light bitterness and good acidity. Very unique stuff going on. Can't pick out any single note but it's well-done though quite a bit of residual sugar.

Brewery draught, 4/1/23. Clear, warm toned honey. White head to ring. Soft oak, honey-like malt. Light vanilla and hints of citrus. Low fruit at this point. Soft, malty, vanilla and orange. I guess the peach-mango is there. Maybe more mango rind than anything. Good acidity, attenuation. Clean and flavorful. Good balance.

Brewery draught, 4/1/23. Cherry red, clear, low head. Medicinal Brett (in a great way) with cherry, floral, mint, hay....really interesting and complex with no aggressive notes. Soft, cherry pie Brett and light band aids. Very mild and flavorful, no aggressive notes. Body has thinned out but still mostly supportive. Vanilla, oak tannin, cherry...

Brewery draught, 4/1/23. Clear, bright gold. Small, white head to ring. Very highly developed Brett in the nose with a bit of biscuit and honey. Clean, tropical, MN maybe a bit over-expressed on the Brett at this point. Same flavor, but a great, chewy texture thanks to rye. Again, almost all Brett ester/phenol but it's not too punchy/bready or medicinal.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] A pale amber pour with a tight white head; fruity aroma; smooth and oily in the mouth with a fruity malt body; then a dry creamy citrus finish. Solid and satisfying.

Cask @ Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Slightly deeper clear golden with a head and a glow. Its strength is evident, providing a fuller body and is quite hoppy in the main, with some fruitiness in taste, but nothing that stated.

Pours a clear golden amber colour with a small, mostly lasting foamy white head. The aroma is floral and fruity, orange, mango and sweet scented flowers. A moderately sweet taste, sweet malts, orange, mango and floral hop flavours with a moderate hoppy finish.

Brewery draught, 1/31/23. Clear, copper-brass. Off-white head is medium-sized, well-retained. Wow, is this Simcoe?? Haven't smelled good Simcoe in like 20 years. Just bright and fruity. Nothing aggressive. Juicy melon on the end with succulent golden promise delivering plenty of honey-like character. No booze, resin. Soft, succulent, juicy, fruity. Just a speck of pine for balance. Low but ample balance. Very malty, but also dry. Melon, cherry, orange juice lingering. This feels like the only way forward for a WCIPA. This is what Song of Autumn should have been.

Brewery draught, 1/31/23. Lightly cloudy, medium amber. Dark beige head, moderate retention. Citrus-laced vanilla. Candied pecans and caramel apple. Rich brown sugar yielding to spicy, elegant bourbon spice. No alcohol noted. Rich, thick, malty. Intensely lovely, cherry liqueur with rich raisin and sweet vanilla. Bourbon spice/dryness balancing all the while. No hop character to this vintage, which is great. Glad that went out of style. The cherry character they've created without any cherry is remarkable. Just shy of syrupy texture is highly pleasing as well. Let's go, CBC! Will age well for years to come, indeed.
