Description
Back in the summer of 2018, we were a fun-loving trio on the wrong side of our twenties, who loved boozing, but could no longer hack the hangover. We started searching for other drinks that could help us cut down on units: shandy seemed to be on the tip of the tongue, but we weren't convinced this parent-pleasing tradition would suit us. We decided to give it a second chance anyway…

Against the advice of our parents and mates, we quit our jobs, built a rickety pop-up bar, and went on tour with the best shandies we'd created to see if people liked them as much as us. And so Shandy Shack was born!

We had some great times on the road with the Shack, hosting parties and events anywhere that would let us pitch up. And it turned out that people loved sinking shandies just as much as we did. But we wanted to go one step further and let people enjoy our shandies away from the Shack. So we set about brewing our very own shandies from scratch.

It took us a fair old while (and a fair few dodgy 'test brews'!) to learn the ropes. But eventually, we started to make seriously sinkable shandies that made even some of the most challenging ales really tasty. We felt like we'd struck gold, so we start bottling and canning our shandies and selling them to consumers and shops. These days, our shandies put smiles on faces all over the UK - from Edinburgh to Exeter.

Team tasting at CBJ, thanks to Dan the man for the can. Near clear pale gold beer, small white head. Airy palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light malts, a fair degree of sugary sweetness. Soft but obvious elderflower, also quite sweet. Too sweet to enjoy and a bit far removed from a core beer style.
