Bottle from Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn
Hazy amber color with generous compact head. Strong aroma of malt, crystal, perfumy, hoppy, a bit fruity, light anise. Smooth mouthfeel, full bodied; flavor of malt, caramel, light toffee, some crystal malt, and very strong bitterness, with quite some resins.
Good but not exciting.

Hazy amber beer, good white head. Palate starts soft but turns crisper. A little creamy malt and caramel. Minerals. Mild sweet generic fruits before mild hop bitterness kicks in. Pine. Finishes semi dry. Decent without being attention grabbing.

65 cl. bomber // pirate, metal, whatever themed label // black, very dark brown, lighter beige head which is semi-solid // medium burned roast in the nose upfront, liquorice, light nuts, touch molasses and bitter mocha // medium but clearly upfront roast in the beginning, lightly burned coffee grounds, bitterness lasts with some light hops in the back, pine, behind it there is some mocha, nuts, touch liquorice sweetness plus some chocolate milk // body is in the medium range as far as imperial stouts go // not bad – although I have come across little truly dreadful RIS – but certainly not top of the game // still sort of what expected & I expected this to succeed more by image than taste // originally intended for the second session of RBBWG II which is likely not going through & every possible attendee apparently has already had this so it has now claimed as a spoil of war // thx. to Beerlover_Ben

Location: Bottle at Paul's Blind Impy Stout Tasting, 1/5/13, Rating #2727
Aroma: The nose has roasted malts, chocolate, and some dark fruit notes
Appearance: This one pours a brown color with a light brown head
Flavor: It tastes fairly sweet, with a good amount of chocolate and roasted malts
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it feels a little thick and a touch syrupy, with some light heat
Overall Impression: Another solid one, but not a standout for me. I still found it to be plenty solid and I'm glad I tried it.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Hopefully a 2012 version. Pours very hazy orange/amber with a creamy white head. Seems to be grapefruit aroma. Med + body. It’s almost chewy. Sort of laidback grapefruit flavor. Lots of hop, finishing bitter. Not at all harsh.

Bomber shared with Brenn79, thanks. Aroma is citrusy. Pours a cloudy cantaloupe hue with a decent head. Taste is lightly sweet and turns bitter mid-palate and remains fairly bitter through the long finish. It’s okay, but nothing to write home about.
