Bottle @ Hotelroom, Kunshan. Pours black with a creamy light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, notes of coffee. Taste is roasted malt, licorice, coffee, burned toast, light medical touch, dark chocolate. Medium body, soft carbonation. Okies stout, flavour far more bitter than aroma, but the medical notes are putting me abit of. 050112

Aside from the boring appearance, this has a really strong smell of alcohol and rice, and not in a good way. Flavour is bread mixed with rice adjuncts. What else is there to say? Another pale lager by a different name.

I am, in fact, kind of a fan of foreign stouts.... the sweet barley and malts get me many times, but luckily not every time! This has a decent head and a nearly black body. The aroma is adjunct sweetness and fake barley, sugary notes and all the mess like that. The flavour is average for a stout - lots of coffee and sugar shining through, but also sweet adjunct stuff messing up the balance. You could call this an "okay" macro stout - and you’d be right. And that’s about all it is.

500ml can in Hong Kong, ABV matches this listing’s description so I’m goin’ fer it. Yellow body, foamy small head, soft fruity ester aroma. Flavour is breadiness like a non-alcoholic beer with a dry finish. Weak, weak mouthfeel. You can’t tell me they actually made variations on this horse piss!?!?
