330ml Bottle - Copper with a small head. Fruity, malty and slightly spicy aroma with earthy hops and raisins detected. Fruity, malty, slightly spicy and moderately sweet taste with raisins, fruitcake and some faint hints of cloves.

Bottle @ Torban Matthews tasting. Clear amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is very faint of malt and caramel. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 201113

Bottle looks good but a bit complex. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, modest malty, not too dry. Fruity hints in the background. Finish still mild, well balanced. Quite drinkable. Okay!

Amber colour with medium white head. Aroma of hops and grain, medium body and flavor of caramel and light herbs,crispy and fresh beer.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Martinus who brought it back from his adventures in Iceland. Couleur ambrée, col fin beige. Arôme est malté moyen sur une pointe de caramel, le houblon est ici quasi peu notable. Palais est malté, profil caramel restant très modéré, houblon est là mais sans vraiment ajouter une dimension souhaitée, le tout reste assez doux, avec un malt typique oscillant sur du carapils-allemand. Un petit plus pour l"effort pour une bière qui se laisse boire.

Clear amber brown colour, light white head. Quite aged aroma, malts, caramel, sherry, raisins, attic, lager yeast and light mineral note. Sweet malty flavour, raisins and caramel. Quite light body. Finish raisins, old herbs and aged beer.
Strange beer. The front label mentions 2006, which I assumed ment the year it was first brewed, or the year the brewery started or something like this. Shine label, fresh in the store, it doesn’t really look old. However, it does taste old. Best before is Dec 2012.

33 cl. fles gedeeld door Tinus tijdens de pre-Zwanze 2012 tasting, bedankt. Nu heb ik zowel een bierstijl die ik nog moest doen geproefd alsook een bier van een land waar ik sterk naar benieuw naar was. Zijn uitleg over de evolutie van de legale status van alcohol in IJsland was best ook wel heer interessant. Op de fles staat het jaar 2006 vermeld, niet helemaal zeker waar dit op slaat, stichtingsdatum van de brouwerij of de vintage van dit bier…? De houdbaarheidsdatum ligt wel ergens eind december van dit jaar. Klein proefglaasje genomen. Ziet er radiant koper amber uit met weinig witte kraag. Geur verraad een Duitse bier, lager gist alsook de leeftijd van dit bier, iets ouder karamel mout en wat ijzer. Smaak is hetzelfde, tekenen van ouderdom, niet al te zwaar, karamel, lichte synthetische toffee, zoet ijzer, oude kruiden, licht donker fruit een metallische finish. Lichtjes olie-achtig, ouder Duitse lager mondgevoel. Dit was waarschijnlijk lichtjes leuker toen het vers was.

Bottle @ Micro Bar. Clear, light golden appearance with a white head. Mild straw, hay, light vanilla, boring aroma. Fairly dull, a bit grassy, light vanilla, straw flavor. Not really anything wrong except it’s boring.

Bottle @ Micro Bar. Clear, burnt orange appearance with an off white head. Toasted, caramel, light corn/veggie, herbal aroma. A little light bodied, toasted malty, a little spicy, caramel, herbal flavor. Ok.
