Pours an orangish yellow color. Fairly hazy. Slightly off-white head. Kinda rocky. Fades pretty quickly. Not a very pretty beer, but it’s not an important consideration to me. The aroma is smoke with some spicy, mineral-ish hops. There’s a touch of sourness and a kinda stale malt flavor. Very mild. Taste is a bit better. It’s mildly tart with some nice background wheat and malt sweetness. Low level of bitterness. Good mix of wheat and hop spiciness with yeast or, maybe, actual spicing. Sort of a grassy, wheaty finish. Some funky, earthy flavors are also in the mix. Mild woody smoke. A little too much sweetness for my palate or I’d go higher with my score. Mouthfeel is a bit full. I’d prefer the beer to be a touch crisper, but the smoke might make that kinda odd. Relatively low carbonation. This was a fun beer to try, but it’s just a bit mild, and the malt sweetness doesn’t quite seem right. I also wonder if a fresher bottle would have a little more hop kick to it, as the label alludes to hops as a highlight and they don’t really come across with much strength. Still, I’m always happy to try lesser known and historical styles.

A hazed blonde weisse with a very thin dissipating white head. In aroma, beautiful Brett and epsom salts, fruity esters, light sulfur, superb and gueuze. In mouth, a smooth lemony weisse with creamy and acific/refreshing qualities.

Aroma has a nice tart character with a bit of wheat background. Slight fruitiness including apple and pear. Some citrus notes present as well. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow straw with a big fluffy white head that quickly recedes but leaves a thin layer that persists. No lacing and no legs. Flavor is tart. A really nice acidic tart note upfront. Some light wheat flavor, but a bit stale. Some light citrus notes as well as some fruity cider and pare esters. No bitterness and no funk. Mouthfeel is light with lots of high, effervescent carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty good version of the beer. Some nice clean acidity and the wheat character is light and in the background. A bit fruity for my taste but not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle...December 2012...Pours a fluffy almost pure white head, that diminishes quickly ...typical clove/coriander aroma with a muddled citrus that also seems to not stick around ...its tart and zingy, but light like a wheat ... pretty good, the finish is light and a sour malt tone to it, extremely effervescent on the palate , kind of fun I think...the finish is distinct lemon
