RBESG Grand Tasting. Cloudy orange with a small white head. Malty and fruity aroma with just a faint hint of smoke. Malty flavour with strong fruity notes, some citric notes and a faint hint of smoke. I’d like to have it more intensely sour and smoked

bottle - Pours yellow with a minimal head. It’s a very bubbly looking brew with chunky suspended yeast. The aroma is of ginger, other herbals, and some citrus and particularly lemon notes. The flavor is sweet with ginger presence. It’s light and watery. The finish is on the dry side. It’s different. It’s unusual. It smells pretty good. Other than that, to me it’s a watery, quite lacking brew. Overrated.

Malty apple and cinnamon nose, with emphasis on the latter. Cloudy amber, thin head. Wheat malt initially, with a surge of apples at midpalate, lightly tart. A little funky lemongrass in the end. Intermittently, a presence of smoke is detected. Creative

Bottle from Total Wine Ft Lauderdale. It pours cloudy yellow, with a thick, fluffy white head. The nose is lemon, wheat, lactic acid and a touch of pepper. The taste is lemon, citrus pith, wheat, soap, light tartness, lactic acid and a bit of spice. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit of a disappointment as I was hoping for much more sourness. Easy drinking, but unexciting.

Tap at Max’s, Baltimore - pours like a hefe - turbid gold - foamy, lasting head - nose is lightly sour, lightly phenolic, lightly earthy, with a hint of smoke - quite tart and mildly acidic on the approach - this is followed by some mildly sweet wheat malt, moderate earthy smoke - finish is lightly bitter, with a healthy dose of phenols of the more earthy and funky variety - interesting brew - would like mor smoke.

Bottle. Fruity white grape and lemon aroma. Pale yellow with a large white head. Tart lemon flavor. Light body, lively carbonation, dry finish. After rating it straight, I finished it off by adding the traditional sweet woodruff syrup, which was interesting, and did help tone down the tartness,
